Mitigating human-wildlife conflict
Species that many of us have only seen from the safety of our home on a screen, call the wilderness of Bhutan their home. Tigers, snow leopards or the Himalayan bear roam the mountain ranges and forests of Bhutan.
High in the mountains Detecting emblematic species
Proximity between wildlife and human settlements in rural areas cause reoccurring human-wildlife conflicts. Data on species occupancy could help mitigate these conflicts, but inaccessible terrain makes traditional monitoring methods such as camera traps, tedious and dangerous. By leveraging our simplified eDNA detection method, these species can be monitored and detected by reducing the effort and risks for everybody involved.
