Real time Arctic monitoring

The largest mammal on Earth does not live on land, but in the ocean. While oceans are vast, increasing exploitation of the oceans has disrupted these unique ecosystems. To better understand the distribution of marine species in Arctic regions (regions particularly affected by climate change) leveraging our rapid approach has allowed various species to be detected from water samples. Using this approach further could help monitor distributions and migration patterns for marine species throughout the year.

Tracking species across oceans
Field deployable Arctic species detection

In remote Arctic regions where access and travel are challenging rapid testing for species opens new doors for direct insights. Through on-site eDNA sampling and analyses we are able to detect the presence of critical Arctic species in remote areas. Used regularly such rapid testing can help track changes in species distribution, detect emerging threats and identify shifts in ecosystems linked to climate change, ultimately helping make better-informed decisions to protect Arctic icons.
