Difficult to monitor but critical for species survival
The ongoing traditional monitoring program that tracks the whereabouts of various mammal species in the Swiss National Park requires many hours of labor and field surveys. Detections through eDNA could facilitate this work – by monitoring different river catchments inside the park, we are able to successfully detect various emblematic species with our minimally invasive method.
